Austin brewery blends beer and cookies

An Austin brewery hopes to capitalize on the popularity of Girl Scout cookies, and the popularity of its beer, by offering a Girl Scout cookies and beer tasting session on January 20.

Circle Brewing, located in North Austin, will be offering guests a selection of eight beer and cookie pairings. For $20, participants can choose to sample five of the eight options.

Breweries can offer special items, such as custom Drinkware with their logo printed on it to mark events and to give customers something to take home with them. At the Girl Scout tasting at Circle Brewing, participant will be able to buy Boxes of their favorite cookies as well as cans of their favorite beer, to go.

The brew masters and marketing team at the brewery have been working since September of last year to come up with the ideal cookie and beer pairs. Among the pairings they created are the Peanut Butter Sandwich and Alibi Blonde, Girl Scout S'mores and Lady Bird American IPA, Lemondes and Blur Hefe, and Peanut Butter Patties and Party Pig Imperial Porter.

No Girl Scout cookie tasting would be complete without the ever popular Thin Mints. The brewery is pairing the chocolate mint cookies with its Tuxedo T-Shirt Black IPA, a dark and hoppy beer.

The beer and cookie pairing will take place from 1:00 until 4:00 pm this Saturday, January 20.
