Traditions continue under newly branded Austin Reggae Festival

Under new ownership, next month’s Austin Reggae festival is set to bring the same good vibes, atmosphere, and energy while starting a new chapter for the event.

Reggae Rise Up has joined as an owner of the cult fest as it marks its 31st year, making it the longest running festival at Austin’s Auditorium Shores.

First held in May 1994, the festival started as a tribute to the late Bob Marley. Over three decades later, his son Stephen Marley will headline the show. The Grammy winner will be joined by Jamaican performer Original Koffee, the California band Iration, and many other artists.

The inaugural show was free, but organizers asked attendees to bring donations for the Central Texas Food Bank, which they did in abundance. Today, the festival continues to support the food bank with funds from each ticket going toward helping feed area families.

The festival will be held over three days on a single stage at Auditorium Shores, where concertgoers will also find an artisan marketplace, family-friendly areas, and a range of food and beverage offerings. Vendors who rent space at large outdoor events such as this often use banner printing to draw attention to their products.

The Austin Reggae Festival will be held April 17 to 19. Tickets and further information are available online.
