Austin residents and visitors will again ring in the new year at the well-known Auditorium Shores, a local urban green space between Palmer Auditorium and the south shore of Lady Bird Lake.
The city’s New Year's celebration started in 2006 as First Night Austin, which was held along downtown streets. The park became the event’s new home in 2010.
At Auditorium Shores, families can enjoy activities and performances that feature a mix of culture, music and art. Local vendors will be on hand to offer the crowd food and beverages whether they are looking for a full dinner or late night snack. The year-end celebration will culminate with a midnight fireworks display across the Austin skyline, which is prominently viewed from the park.
The free event is designed so that friends and family of all ages can celebrate the new year together. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and portable chairs and plan ahead for transportation as there is limited parking near the venue.
Austin’s New Year is presented by the City of Austin and Visit Austin. Community groups that organize events such as this often rely on poster printing to assist in providing guests with on-site information.
The celebration begins at 7 pm on December 31, 2025, and runs through until 1:30 am on New Year’s Day at Auditorium Shores 900 W Riverside Drive in Austin.
