South by Southwest (SXSW), the massive annual Austin showcase of film, music and media, will mark its 40th year with expansion and a move to several downtown locations.
Renovations at the Austin Convention Center means downtown spaces will host the main three SXSW festivals next month. A Film and Television Clubhouse will be set up at 800 Congress near the Paramount Theater. Downright Austin will host the Music Clubhouse and the Innovation Clubhouse will find a home at Brazos Hall.
This is the first year that SXSW has held all three events during the same timeframe, allowing for a combined celebration of 40 years of talent in music, screen and innovation. Plus, organizers are increasing the music festival to seven days this year.
SXSW annually attracts thousands of visitors to Austin and is world renowned for featuring artists before they have a record deal, the work of directors who go on to become award-winners and emerging tech companies.
More than premieres, performances and displays, SXSW will also feature panels, networking opportunities and guest speakers including First Lady Michelle Obama, PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger and actor Ben Stiller. Up-and-coming musicians and entrepreneurs who attend large events such as this often carry Business Cards for self-promotion.
Austin will host SXSW from March 12 to 18, 2026. Tickets and further information are available on the event website.
