Austin Zoo will open at night for special Boo at the Zoo evenings during the month of October.
On weekend nights next month, the zoo will welcome families to enjoy a special adventure in the dark. A haunted house, haunted train rides, music and other entertainment will be featured. As part of the fun, children are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.
The zoo, which is home to 300 animals spanning over 1000 different species, will be decorated for the spooky celebration, including special holiday lights.
The Austin Zoo is a recognized Zoological Association of America facility that is dedicated to connecting the community to nature and animals. It offers regular public educational programs, family events and is active in animal rescue programs.
The zoo is located on what was originally a goat farm and currently occupies 15 acres of land with another 40 acres available for potential expansion.

Boo at the Zoo will take place on Friday and Saturday nights throughout all of October from 6:30 to 9 pm at Austin Zoo, 10808 Rawhide Trail. Tickets are $22 and include the train ride, which must be booked in advance.
