Leechburg neighbor to host tea party fundraiser
The Vandergrift Public Library and the Victorian Vandergrift Museum and Historical Society are hosting a tea party fundraiser this spring.
The event will celebrate local authors and the many streets in Vandergrift that are named after writers. It will include readings from local authors, who will also be selling and signing books later in the afternoon. The tea menu includes savory items like quiches, mini club sandwiches, pasta salad, deviled eggs, and cucumber and cream cheese tea sandwiches, as well as sweets like berry scones, cookies, fruit salad, and gourmet cupcakes. Beverage options include a selection of hot teas and pineapple iced tea. The full menu is available on the Eventbrite listing.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite for $20 per person plus fees. Organizers often use graphic design services to create digital flyers for their events. Proceeds from the tea will support both the library and the historical society. Vandergrift was established as a planned industrial town. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places as most of its original Queen Ann and Victorian buildings remain intact. The Vandergrift Public Library opened in 1901. Membership is free for all Pennsylvania residents, including those in neighboring Leechburg.
The Tea Party to Celebrate Authors in the Neighborhood will take place on Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Pleasant View Brethren Church.
