Breath work in Canonsburg
An upcoming breathing session will be the first of a series that will allow people to relax and reset.
Bobbi DiClaudio is the host of the Full Moon Breath & Sound Experiences. She is offering attendees a chance to unplug, reenergize, calm their minds, and rejuvenate their entire systems. DiClaudio refers to these sessions as mini escapes which have been carefully arranged to give people a break from their daily lives, relax, and simply “be.” She will use breath patterns and soothing sounds to help students regain a sense of calm and peace.
The sessions focus on deep intentional breathing, which helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, the system responsible for digestion and rest. Breathing exercises move people away from the state of “flight or fight” common today. Once the system is activated, the body recognizes that it is safe and the extreme “flight or fight” response is no longer needed, and the person can relax. This state of relaxation also encourages creativity.
In addition to deep breathing, DiClaudio will use sound from various instruments, including drums, chimes, and crystal bowls, to further relax those attending the workshop. Sound baths have been credited with helping people release tension and relax more fully.
The first session in the series is scheduled for January 25 at 6.30pm, at the Sacred Tones Studio on West Pike Street in Canonsburg. When events like this are scheduled, organizers might consider using flyer printing to create introductory materials.
