Time to celebrate in Tigard

The public is invited to come and celebrate the birthday of its oldest citizen.

Celebrating the birthday of Curtis Tigard, who is part of the family who founded this city, has become a local tradition, and this year will be no different. Tigard will be turning 107, and to help mark the occasion, the Tigard Historical Association will be hosting a party at the 1880s home of John Tigard, who was one of the community’s founding fathers. There will be a birthday cake, punch, and other refreshments, and Curtis Tigard will be on hand to join in the fun.

Since Tigard was born in 1909, there have been many changes to the local area. It has gone from a sleepy farming town to a thriving city, and he has seen it all happen.

Admission to the festivities, which will take place on April 16 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the John Tigard House Museum, is free of charge. The public is invited to come and wish the man of the hour a happy birthday and also to find out more about the Tigard Historical Association, what it does, and how they can help. Brochures that give more detail about the organization can be kept on hand to give out to the public during events such as this.

More information about the Curtis Tigard 107th Birthday party can be found on the association’s website.
