The city of Tigard has signed a multi-year agreement with Tyler Technologies of Plano, Texas.
Tyler will provide the city with its software-as-a-service (SaaS) that includes such features as asset management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), citizen engagement, and court solutions, among others. The city was originally looking at upgrading only its asset management software but once it further investigated the cross-functionality and integration in the public administration suite offered by Tyler, the city decided that this entire package would offer greater benefits. Companies such as Tyler often use printing services to provide greater details for customers about their products and their features.
Information technology manager for the city of Tigard, Mike Nolop, said the city recognized that a new asset management solution would improve citizen engagement, provide insights into lifecycles of assets, and increase employee productivity. He added that after a demonstration from Tyler revealed that by having the city’s many core systems to be able to work together the city realized that there would be value in implementing the multiple solutions offered by Tyler.
President of Tyler’s Enterprise Group, Chris Hepburn, expressed his appreciation for the forward-thinking approach taken by the city. He added that working together the several systems will provide better communication between the public and the government, simplify decision-making, and improve workflow. He said that his company is looking forward to helping the city realize the benefits of its integrated solution.
