Police Dept hosts family fun day in Tigard

The Tigard Public Works and Police Departments are hosting a family fun day later this month.

This will be at the Police Department on SW Hall Boulevard and across the street on SW Burnham Boulevard at the Public Works Department. It will ab event where attendees can learn about the departments, meet the. staff at the Public Works Department and the police officers, and enjoy hands on activities.

There will be tours of the two buildings, demonstrations of drones, big trucks, police and motorcycle vehicles, a bike rodeo and free helmets for kids, and the ability to meet a police K-9 officer. Lunch will be provided and there will also be free giveaways.

Local Print shops can help spread the word about such special events with Posters, Flyers, Brochures, and other printed materials.

The Tigard Police Department consists of patrol officers who respond to calls for service, three School Resource Officers, K-9 teams, detectives who work in the Criminal Investigations Unit and Commercial Crimes Unit, as well as officers who focus on drug investigations and traffic safety and a Community Service Officer. The Public Works Departments maintains and builds the essential structures and services that support daily life. Such as physical assets, roads, and parks.

This event is free and open to all members of the family and friends, but no pets will be allowed. It will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. next Saturday September 20.
