The Parks and Recreation Department of the city of Tigard will be hosting a Festival of Balloons 5K Fun Run later this month.
The event will take place at Cook Park and will start at 5:30 am where families can view the hot air balloon launches prior to the Run.
There will be two start times for the event—one at 8:00 am and another at 8:30 am. Registration is required for the event and participants can pick up their packets early on Friday, June 23 at Fanno Creek House or on the day of the event at the Admissions Tent at Tigard High School. Those running at 8:00 am can pick up their packets beginning at 7:00 am, while those running at 8:30 am can pick up their packets beginning at 7:30 am.
Attendees are encouraged to clean up after the Run and then return to the park before noon to enjoy an afternoon of shopping with the vendors, high flying, an area for kids’ activities, a beer garden, and live music at 3:30 pm.
The cost to register for the Run is $20 with 25% of each registration being donated to the Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center. Promoting such townwide events and their fundraising efforts is often aided with poster printing.
The Festival of Balloons 5K Fun Run will take place on Saturday, June 24.
