An event is being planned for Tigard that will bring together friends, neighbors and law enforcement in a spirit of fun that organizers hope will lead to improved community safety.
National Night Out 2016 will add Tigard to the tens of thousands of other neighborhoods all across the country that will be marking the occasion. It is expected that millions will be participating nationwide, and some people are already making their plans.
Each community will be celebrating in its own way. Some will be hosting dessert potlucks, while others will be setting up block parties, cookouts, corn boils, ice cream socials or another type of celebration. This is all designed to help build community bonds, give neighbors a chance to socialize and get to know one another better and also meet the law enforcement personnel who serve them on a daily basis. Stationery printers can produce registration Forms, promotional Flyers and other materials for use during events such as this.
The event has been scheduled for the evening of August 2nd. Anyone who is interests in taking part is asked to gather their neighborhood together, come up with a plan and then contact the Tigard Police for further details.
