Laura Gomez is the new Human Resources Director of the city of Tigard.

Gomez has over 29 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, collective bargaining, program management, and employment law. From 2003 to 2017, she held several positions at Nike including Global Human Resources Director at Nike. Most recently she has been the Human Resources Director for the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Texas.
Gomez expressed her excitement about joining the city of Tigard and honor to become part of a community that shares the same vision, goals, and values as she has. She said that this position will enable her to continue her commitment to serving people and will enable her to provide inspiration to others. She said that it is of great importance to her to foster an uplifting and positive effect that will benefit the residents, visitors, and teammates of the city of Tigard.
