Tigard will once again be greeting the sunny months of summer with its Festival of Balloons, and people from all over are invited to take in the fun and graceful beauty of the event.
Each morning, the balloons will launch into the sky from Cook Park, so long as the weather permits, and the public is invited to enjoy the spectacle. After this, there will be an assortment of different crafters and other local businesses with displays set up to browse through. A Festival of Cars will give classic vehicle buffs a chance to view some of their favorite makes and models, and there will also be carnival style attractions, live music, a beer garden, and much more. One of the most popular parts of the festivities is the Night Glow, when the balloons will take to the sky to light up the dusk with their colorful Forms. The event, which operates on a not-for-profit basis, will raise funds that will be passed along to local service organizations that help the local community.
