Tigard company looks to expand footprint

Tigard-based NSI, a company that supplies chemical and gas equipment to manufacturers of semiconductors in Oregon, is planning to increase the size of its factory at a new site in Sherwood.

The company currently occupies 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space in two buildings and will be moving to a new plant that will span 62,000 square feet. NSI said this new facility will increase its production capabilities and enable it to meet the increased demand for its products.

NSI currently employs 70 people at its two buildings in Tigard. The plant in Sherwood will be able to accommodate 120 people in the Building A space at the Tualatin-Sherwood Corporate Park. This will be an excellent opportunity for those who live in nearby Tigard to find employment and easily commute to the new facility. Promotion of such new facilities and the employment opportunities they bring can be made known through a region with flyer printing.

NSI is the second supplier in the chip industry to expand in Sherwood in the past year. Lam Research last year opened a new factory in the Cipole Industrial Park along Tualatin-Sherwood Road about a block west of the NSI facility.

Renovations on the new space are expected to be completed by next month, with a move-in date scheduled for later in the year.
