Tigard becomes home to new self-storage facility

Construction has begun on a self-storage facility in Tigard by Rosewood Property Co. (RPC), a real estate firm. This will be the first location of the company in the area.

The structure will have several stories and 83,375 rentable square feet of storage divided among 850 units. There will be climate-controlled environments in 799 units. Extra Space Storage Inc., a self-storage real estate investment trust, will be managing the facility once it is completed and will put its name on the facility.

CEO of RPC, Bill Flaherty, commented that this will be an important project in the company’s efforts to expand in the self-storage sector. In addition, the company is excited about this location in the Portland area, as a great deal of thought went into placing the facility in an area that would meet the needs of its customers. More self-storage projects will continue to be added in markets that fit the strategic needs of the company.

RPC is based in Dallas and has 43 self-storage facilities in 11 states. This adds up to 26,500 storage units that total over 3.25 million square feet. It plans to develop more multi-story projects in specific markets and build its portfolio of such projects.
