Jamey McDonald has been appointed Steve Rymer, city manager of Tigard, as the Chief of Police of the Tigard Police Department.
The Tigard Police Department welcomed Chief McDonald in 2001 and he is the first chief of police to internally rise from the rank of patrol officer to lead the department. Such appointments often call for business card printing services.
Chief McDonald has also served as a Commercial Crimes Unit Detective Sergeant, Field Training Officer, and a School Resource Officer. In 2010 he was promoted to sergeant, then four years later as lieutenant, and two years later as commander. At the beginning of this year, he was appointed Interim Police Chief.
Chief McDonald said that it is a privilege and an honor to continue serving the city as chief of police. He said that he recognizes the responsibilities of such a position and will continue to make as priorities professionalism, engagement, and transparency at all levels in the department so that the needs of the community can best be served.
Rymer said that during McDonald’s time as Interim Chief, he was impressed by his forward-thinking actions and leadership and has become a proven leader not only for the department but for the city of Tigard. Rymer added that he is confident that McDonald will embrace his responsibilities and will make the department and the city his top priority.
