The Tigard Public Library has many events and activities lined up for the spring.
Such events and activities are often promoted throughout a community with poster printing.
Classic Movie Matinees will be held in the Burgess Community Room and is geared towards adults. American New Wave, classic cinema from Hollywood, and classic musicals will be held at 1:30pm on the first Thursday of the month. “The Philadelphia Story” from 1940 was screened on Thursday, March 2, while “Singin’ in the Rain” from 1952 will be on offer on Thursday, April 4.
“Mindfulness for a Good Night’s Sleep” will focus on improving one’s sleep through mindfulness meditation, presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library. The event will focus on ways to improve relaxation, concentration, and ways to feel sleepy before going to bed. There will be guided mediation and a question-and-answer session. This will take place in the library’s technology room from 2:00 to 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 16.
Those who are curious about chess, are new to the game, or are experienced and are looking for a challenge can come to the library to learn more about the game. Members of the Chess Club at Tigard High School will lead the event to teach, give pointers, and demonstrate various chess strategies. This event will be on Saturday, March 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Puett Room, and is aimed at students grades 1 through 12.
