A favorite of the holiday season is currently being performed by the Broadway Rose Theatre Co. in Tigard.
“A Very Merry PDX-mas” is a show that highlights the many endearing and funky cultural points of the city which help to define it. Attendees of the performance will be reminded of why there is no place like home. Such special shows are often promoted throughout a city and the area with poster printing.
The show is a follow-on to “Celebrate Home - A Broadway Rose Christmas” that was last performed by the theater company in December 2008. To ensure that no production is the same from one year to the next, new material is added and the cast changes.
Sharon Maroney directs the production and Dan Murphy does the choreography. They are both co-founders of the theater company. Abe Reybold directed the original shows and wrote the specialty material. Maroney expressed her pride in being able to celebrate the many qualities and quirks that make the Portland area home for many.
Recently, $3.5m was spend to remodel and renovate the Broadway Rose Theare on SW Grant Avenue in Tigard.
The schedule began on November 23 and performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, along with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. There will be additional shows on 7:30 pm on December 20 and 21, and the run ends on Thursday, December 22. Ticket prices begin at $20.
