Emergency responders in Tigard who are interested in making sure their skills are up to date are invited to take part in a day of training being offered in the local area.
The training, which will cover topics related to the actions first responders should take if there has been a chemical spill, complies with the current OSHA standards. They will learn what steps to take to keep themselves safe and how to mitigate the damage should such an incident occur.
Those who plan on taking the course will need to have successfully completed their Emergency Response Technician Level III training. The organizers noted that these classes tend to fill up rapidly, so anyone who is interested in participating is advised to register as soon as possible.
The class will be taught using a variety of interactive and hands-on techniques. Emergency responders are required to complete at least an eight-hour refresher course in what to do should there be a hazardous material spill, and this training meets that requirement. A Print company can supply an assortment of instructional materials and certificates of completion for an event like this.
The class, which will be facilitated by Compliance Solutions Occupational Trainers, Inc., will take place on October 13 at 13221 SW 68th Parkway in Tigard. More details can be found on its website.
