New hotel proposed in Tigard area

A new hotel is being proposed in Sherwood next to Langer’s Entertainment Center. This could potentially attract more people to the area, including nearby Tigard.

The proposal includes a hotel with 100 rooms and a skybridge that would connect the hotel to the entertainment center, as well as a new mini-storage facility. The name of the hotel is still being considered.

Langer’s Entertainment Center opened in 2019 and features laser tag, a high ropes course, an arcade, a rock wall, and bowling, among other attractions. The mini-storage facility will have 690 units, span 110,000 square feet over two lots, be three stories high, and be used for light industrial purposes as well. Once such projects are approved, local Print shops can be valuable in spreading the word throughout the community about them with Flyers and other printed materials.

Matt Langer, owner of Langer’s Entertainment Center, is also planning to build a track next to the entertainment center which will span 40,000 square feet and will be used for high-speed electric go carts. He is looking to travel to Italy in the fall to tour several of the tracks in the country to get ideas for designs for this project. He said that once the designs are completed, he will be able to pull the permits and build the racetrack.

The other hotel in the city is Hampton by Hilton Sherwood Portland, which opened in July 2020.
