First aid and CPR training course to be offered in Tigard

Those who work with electricity and electrical systems, and who want to make sure their first aid and CPR skills are up to date, are invited to participate in a morning of training planned for Tigard.

The session will provide those who take part with the knowledge they can use in case of an emergency, including the use of CPR, first aid techniques, and the use of an automated external defibrillator. They will learn what to do during the first few minutes after an accident, when swift response is vital.

The course was developed using guidelines provided by the American Heart Association and Medic First Aid BasicPlus, and include the skills recommended by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Graphic design can be used by a printer to create course materials and other items for a trainings session such as this.

The course has been designed to meet the requirements set by OSHA, and will give four hours continuing education unit (CEU) in Oregon and Washington. Anyone who plans on using it for this purpose is asked to provide their license number.

The course will be held on November 12 at the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) of Oregon, located at 11481 SW Hall Blvd in Tigard, Suite 100. It will run from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, and the cost to take part is $65.
