Day of lifesaving training to be held in Tigard

Knowing first aid and CPR techniques can allow a person to save a life, and anyone who would like to add these to their skillset or just get a refresher is invited to attend a course that will be held in the Tigard area.

The course, which will be taught following the principles of the American Heart Association and Medic First Aid BasicPlus, will cover a large assortment of topics, including those that are recommended by OSHA. Each person who participates will learn what to do in an emergency, right from assessing the situation, to understanding what steps to take until first responders arrive. Instruction in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) will also be included on the agenda.

The hosts of the workshop noted that the course meets the current OSHA requirements, and is recognized by both the state of Oregon and Washington as counting for four hours of continuing education units (CEUs) as well as the Area 1 Limited Energy Apprenticeship Program and Area 2 Inside Electrical Apprenticeship program. Booklet printing can be utilized to craft training manuals and other materials for a day of training like this.

It will be held on November 11 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at 11481 SW Hall Blvd., Suite 100 in Tigard. More details can be obtained through the Independent Electrical Contractors of Oregon’s website.
