The Tigard Festival of Balloons will soon be back for another year, and its organizers have planned for it to be bigger and better than ever.
The event will feature dozens of hot air balloons, and the public is welcome to come out in the morning to watch them as they take to the sky for an early hours launch. After this, visitors can fill the day by browsing through the different vendor displays that will be set up, stroll through the vehicles that will be exhibited in the Festival of Cars, take in the entertainment, and enjoy freshly made food.
The popular Night Glow, when the balloons, many of which will be lit up, will ascend into the air as the sun goes down, will once again be a part of the celebration. The beer garden will be open for business, and the kids can indulge in the cotton candy and other treats that will be available.
The Festival of Balloons is held as a fundraiser for local community service organizations, and the monies raised will be distributed to several local not-for-profit groups.
