Assistant superintendent hired for Tigard-Tualatin school district

Lisa McCall will become the assistant superintendent of the Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) beginning July 1. Her duties will be to supervise early learning and instruction in grades kindergarten through 12, elementary administrators and the Aspiring Leadership Program in the district.

McCall has been with the Portland Public Schools for the past 11 years and will be replacing Karen Twain who be retiring in June and served the district for 30 years. Banner printing companies can be hired to create displays to make announcements of such appointments in the district.

During her 22 years in the field of education, McCall has been a teacher of elementary school and preschool students, an assistant principal, principal, and adjunct professor. At the Portland Public Schools, she is a senior director and oversees a group of principals in grades kindergarten through eight and supports school leaders to help address inequities in their schools.

McCall is also attending Lewis and Clark as a doctoral student. The focus of her research is on finding new ways to improve the quality of education at both the local and district levels.

Sue Rieke-Smith, superintendent of TTSD, commented that McCall has the breadth of experience in the classroom and as an administrator and the dedication to students that will make her an excellent addition to the team.
