Portland goes green for St. Patricks Day

Portland is known for its environmental and sustainability consciousness, but one day of the year the city’s reputation for being green takes on a whole other meaning as the city goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day.

The center of the celebration is Paddy’s Irish Pub also known as Paddy’s Bar & Grill at 65 SW Yamhill Street, where on March 17th everything Irish will be on hand for the enjoyment of all. Live music including bouts of bagpipes, Irish dancers, Guinness, whiskey, corned beef and cabbage.

Banner printing can contribute a sense of excitement to any event.

The fun is scheduled to start at 11 am when the pub opens with the first rendition of Bagpipes taking place 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. The last refrains from the bagpipes will signal the opening of the event tent and the application of the cover charge. Two more 15-minute bagpipe sessions will begin at 2:45 pm and 6 pm.

In between the pipes playing will be a variety of other entertainment including performances by Irish Dance groups as well as, a couple of sessions of the Glensiders folk singers.

Last call will be at 9 pm for the tent and the night will end in the pub with a bagpiper solo performed on the bar top.

Cover charge for this event is $25 at door in the pub at 11 am or 12 pm at the tent.
