Uniqlo plans on two stores for Portland area debut

A popular Japanese clothing chain is, according to KOIN 6, coming to the Portland area with one location in the city’s urban core and the other in nearby Tigard.

City records reveal that the downtown store will in Fox Tower at 710 SW Yamhill Street in the space formerly occupied by Banana Republic prior to its closing in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. Per the alterations permit filled by the company, Uniqlo plans to demolish two street-level spaces to create a single store. The Tigard store will be in the Washington Square Mall and according to the company’s permit application the new store will take up four adjacent locations within the mall.

Local Print shops can supply banner printing services as well as other signage to inform the public of a coming retail establishment as well as its grand opening.

The company is working at expanding its Pacific Northwest footprint and according to Fuminori Adachi, UNIQLO USA CEO:

Uniqlo, founded in 1949 in Yamaguchi, Japan, operates five stores across Washington with another planned for this year; however, the proposed Portland area stores will be the company’s first stores here in Oregon.
