Daily trips available on Portlands Holiday Express

Once again Portland’s favorite holiday train will be leaving the Oregon Rail Heritage Center for an unforgettable holiday experience with Santa Claus and his elves.

A holiday tradition for some, the 45-minute round-trip train ride takes place behind a historic 1912 Polson steam locomotive. The heated vintage rail cars are decorated for the season as they travel along the Willamette River.

Poster printing services offer a reliable way to inform the public of special holiday events that may interest them.

The Holiday Express leaves the station every 90 minutes and passengers are requested to arrive 20 minutes early. Visitors may wish to arrive extra early and enjoy cocoa and treats inside the cozy engine house or Explore the Gift Shop where T-Shirts, toys, videos and unique souvenirs are available. A number of exhibits are on display as well as concessions where a snack or a beverage can be obtained either before or after the train ride.

Both daytime and early dusk trains are available each offering its own advantages. During the daytime travelers can enjoy the scenery and perhaps observe some wildlife, while the early dusk trains provide an opportunity to see the train’s holiday lights.

This is a popular event and it’s best to book as early as possible as tickets are limited. The Holiday Express will begin making trips weekends only beginning November 28 up until December 19 when it will be running every day, except Christmas, until December 28.
