Chinese Garden to hold New Year lantern viewing
In celebration of the upcoming Year of the Rabbit, the Lan Su Chinese Garden is holding a traditional lantern viewing, inspired by the Yuan Xian Jie, or Lantern Festival, that is a Chinese New Year tradition.
A time for families to get together, Yuan Xian Jie falls on the 15th and final Lunar New Year celebration day. However, Lan Su Garden will offer several opportunities to view red hanging lanterns and large floating lantern sculptures.
Venues frequently turn to banner printing services to help promote upcoming events as well as ensure attendees know when they have arrived at their chosen destination.
Attendees can also enjoy an illuminated dragon procession winding its way throughout the garden, conducted by the Dragon and Lion Dance Team of Portland Lee’s Association. They take part in the Year of the Rabbit Chopstick Challenge, and can relax in the garden’s serene atmosphere with snacks and a cup of tea at the Garden Teahouse.
The event takes place at the Lan Su Chinese Garden, which is located at 239 NW Everett Street, beginning January 26 to 29 and returning February 2 to 5. Times for each evening will be 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
General admission tickets for non-members are $45 and $15 for children 3 to 11 years old. Member tickets cost $35.
