Superstore brings new jobs to Stow

Meijer, a family-operated and pioneer of the supercenter concept, recently announced that it plans to hire 900 workers for its locations in Avon, Stow, and Mentor.

Meijer already has 39 locations in Ohio, mostly in the Columbus,
Cincinnati, Dayton and Toledo areas, and these stores will be the first
in Greater Akron and Cleveland areas.

Regional vice president, Tom Wilson, said that each of the three new stores has foundations in place, floors constructed, and walls beginning to go up. The next step, he added, is to begin hiring hourly positions and putting together a team of customer-focused employees to bring a one-stop shopping solution to each area. Banner printing can be used at such stores to make to public aware of such stores and their need for hiring employees.

Meat, fresh produce, and dairy products delivered seven days a week will be featured at the stores. There will also be departments for pet supplies, clothing, toys and electronics, and a garden center. A pharmacy will also be at each store, offering a free prescription program, immunizations, and clinical services.

Among the part-time and full-time positions open are customer service, cake decorators, cashiers, and team leaders. Those interested in these positions can apply online. A screening process will be used to narrow down the most qualified for in-person interviews.
