The First Responders’ Memorial Ribbon Cutting and Open House will be held at the Stow Safety Center next month.
The new First Responders Memorial will be dedicated at this event. The memorial will provide as a lasting tribute to the firefighters and police officers who have served the community of Stow, and will honor those who made the supreme sacrifice in duty.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm, with an open house to follow at 4:30 pm. The open house will provide the opportunity to tour the Stow Safety Building, explore the memorial, and learn more about the support from the community that made this project possible.
Poster printing can be used to promote such special events throughout a city.
The Stow City Council, personnel for the police and fire departments, and a local business owner partnered in 2018 to establish a non-profit organization solely for fundraising efforts for this project. A bid for construction was sent out in 2024, and ground was broken later that year in September.
The memorial features a central monument with plaques honoring the first responders of Stow, a bronze sculpture of a firefighter’s helmet and an eight-point cap of the police, a seating area with decorative metal accents, and an architectural structure highlighting Integrity, Service, and Commitment.
This event will take place on Thursday, October 1.
