Stow to hold informal events at site of new performance center

The city of Stow is holding a series of pop-up events at the future home of the long-anticipated outdoor performance venue of the city, known as the AMP.

The pop-up series will have seven events and will take place in the parking lot area during the early construction phase. This series is designed to be accessible for all ages, welcoming, and simple.

Each pop-up will be informal and short, featuring activities that are family-friendly and will focus on children dancing, singing, playing, and being creative. Residents will be able to stay for a few minutes or longer if they wish, making these events easy to attend. There will also be small Promotional Products that will be giveaways.

Among the activities at the pop-ups will be a pop-up dance party, building activities for children, an open mic night for young performers, and creative play opportunities. There will be a special kick-off celebration.

The schedule of pop-up events in the coming months will be:

• “Dig into the AMP,’’ the kickoff event on Wednesday May 20
• “Kids Build the AMP” on Tuesday June 30
• “Mini Mic Moment” on Wednesday July 22
• “Dress-Up + Photo” on Wednesday August 19
• “Dance Freeze Party” on Wednesday September 16
• “Chalk the Countdown” on Wednesday October 7

All events are from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. except for the kick-off event which will be from 1:20 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
