Stow named finalists in national award

The National Civic League has announced the city of Stow as one of the finalists for the All-America City Award 2026. This is one of the most prestigious honors that can be received by a community.

The award this year recognizes communities that are building trust through collaboration and innovative approaches to local challenges and strengthening civic health. A competitive review process led by experts evaluated the impact of each community, their shared vision for the future, and their engagement.

News of such potential awards is often disseminated throughout a city with flyer printing.

Mayor John Pribonic said that being named as one of 20 finalists for this award is an amazing honor for the city and reflects the dedication of the team of the city, its residents, and community partners. The city has spent the last 10 years transforming itself into a city that has meaningful community engagement and strong civic partnerships with reinvestment in public spaces and parks, developing a new Community and Senior Center, the development of a new amphitheater project, and the creation of a Public Arts Master Plan.

Stow will now advance to the next stage of the competition. A community delegation will present its story to a national jury from Tuesday June 26 through Thursday June 28 in Denver. There will also be peer-learning sessions and workshops with communities from across the country. At the end of the event, 10 communities will be named All-America Cities.
