An amount of $550,000 has been awarded to two projects in the Summit County Transportation Improvement District area to support infrastructure upgrades – one in Stow and the other at the nearby Akron-Canton Airport.
Stow will receive $300,000 and the remaining amount will go to Akron-Canton Airport. Stow will use the funding for improvements to the corner of Allen Road and Seasons Road. A traffic signal will be added as part of this project. Officials have said this traffic signal is needed as the growth of the Seasons Road Business Park and other areas has caused an increase in traffic.
News of such funding and its benefits for a community is often made known with flyer printing.
John Pribonic, mayor of Stow, expressed his gratitude to the county and the Transportation Improvement District for their strategic investment and support in the infrastructure of the city. He said that the improvements in the intersection are important for supporting the ongoing growth at the Seasons Road Business Park and other developments in the area, as they will aid the flow of traffic, enhance safety, and help to attract jobs and businesses to the community.
The funds will be used by the airport to build an access road as part of the West Side Hangar Development Project, which includes the construction of a hangar spanning 12,000 square feet.
