The purchase agreement for the property at Darrow and Norton Roads has been signed by the city of Stow. This will be the future home of the new outdoor amphitheater for the city to be called The AMP.
This purchase agreement is part of the plan of the city to expand cultural programming and community entertainment and to help revitalize the surrounding plaza. The owners of the plaza, The Soclofs, will undertake extensive upgrades to the site, including recruiting new businesses and restaurants, and improvements to the property overall. These will complement and support the amphitheater and create a connected and vibrant destination for visitors and residents.
Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of the updates and progress on such projects.
Mayor John Pribonic expressed his thrill about reaching this milestone. He said that the goal of this project has always been to create live entertainment, develop new opportunities for connections in the community, and create economic growth. He added that the city is now one step closer to achieving these goals.
The city will now seek competitive bids for the construction of the amphitheater, for which design plans have already been created. Once a bid is awarded for the project, construction will begin once the weather is more favorable. A groundbreaking ceremony for the community is expected in early spring.
