The city of Stow will be hosting the Stow Paddle Battle Pickleball Tournament at the end of this month. It is an outdoor tournament and will take place at the Oregon Trail Park’s Pickleball Complex.
This event is designed to be fun and offer some friendly competition, as well as an opportunity to meet members of the community and potentially discover a new passion for pickleball. It will also be a fundraiser for the Speech and Debate program of Stow-Munroe High School.
Each player will compete in at least three games. Withing each division, players will be assigned at random to a pool or group of players. The winners of each group will then progress to a single elimination bracket. Divisions will be determined by skill level with beginners in the division of 3.5 or below, intermediate players in the division of 3.5 to 4.0, and skilled players in the 4.0 and above division.
Players should bring their own water bottles and paddles, but the city will supply the balls. Prizes will be awarded to the champions in each division, as well as the runners-up. Certificates are often sourced from Print shops for this type of event.
The tournament starts on Friday, June 27 at 6:00 pm with a battle of the businesses. The logo of each participating business will be displayed throughout the evening. The regular divisions will play on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29.
