Stow residents can help raise funds for animal shelter

Stow animal lovers have an opportunity to help the PAWSibilities animal shelter by attending its fundraiser, which is taking place today and tomorrow.

The fundraiser is taking the form of a rummage sale, called “Imagine the PAWSibilities”, which is being held at the Stow-Kent Shopping Plaza, in Stow, Ohio. Items for the sale will be donated by shelter patrons and animal lovers throughout the region. Both used and new household items are suitable for the event.

Although the event coordinators are no longer accepting items for this year's sale, interested supporters can make donations all year at Tucker Supply. The store is located in Cuyahoga Falls, at 2800 2nd Street, and accepts sale items from 9:00am to 3:00pm, weekdays. Store volunteers collect, sort, and price the items, and everyone is glad to help, since all the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the shelter. Those still interested in volunteering should get in touch with the event’s organizers.

PAWSibilities saves and rehabilitates neglected, abandoned and abused animals throughout Summit County. It finds them forever homes, and also investigates and prosecutes cases of animal cruelty. In addition, it strives for excellence in taking a leading role in animal care, animal welfare and humane education programs.

Event officials might consider working with flyer printing experts to create a mailer for area residents, asking for donations and reminding them to attend the event. Since the shelter depends largely on volunteers, a large turn-out is particularly important.
