Stow plans major projects for the city

A major capital improvements initiative is being planned for the city of Stow.

John Pribonic, mayor of Stow, said that many projects needed throughout the community will be undertaken. These will include improvements and upgrades to city buildings, city parks, and stormwater systems, as well as the purchase of new equipment and vehicles. Pribonic said that these projects are designed to improve the lives of the city’s residents. Such projects and their benefits can be made known throughout a city with flyer printing.

The mayor and other leaders in the city will be focusing on Stow’s many parks, with an amount of $700,000 allocated towards these improvements. Highlights of these projects will include:

• Renovation of the tennis courts and paving of the main parking lot, with the addition of lighting at Silver Springs
• Installation of a new shelter and building with restrooms at Adell Durbin Park
• Upgrades to many playgrounds throughout the city

The city also plans to hire a consultant to study and create a Master Plan for the parks system, and to spend $4m for upgrades and improvements to the water and stormwater systems in the city. There is also an amount of $200,000 for replacing and building new sidewalks in the residential areas.

These projects are set to get underway over this year and next.
