The city of Stow is planning several significant improvements to the Oregon Trail Park.
In accordance with the Master Plan Project and with the goal of providing an outstanding experience for visitors to the park, a series of upgrades are being planned to increase the appeal and quality of the park. The focus will be on several key areas, including both recreational features and the infrastructure of the park. Flyer printing is often used to inform residents of such planned updates and improvements.
The outer edge of the park will have a new trail loop that will go around the sports fields. The trail will be paved to increase accessibility for all visitors.
Also planned is a pickleball court complex and a new parking lot. These will be built in the northern part of the park. The skate park will be dismantled as its condition is deteriorating. Consequently, temporary pickleball courts will be installed in the former skate park until the construction of the new courts has been completed. In addition, during this time, the Parks and Recreation Board will work with the administration to determine potential uses for the space.
The city plans to begin these renovations and improvements this month. These are expected to be completed in early 2025. Some parts of the park may be inaccessible during the construction period.
