Stow calls for artists for public display

The Stow-Munroe Falls Community Foundation and the city of Stow are launching a project to place a distinctive piece of artwork in the SKIP Playground and City Community Center Complex. The goal of this project is to embrace innovative design and expand the investment of the city in public art.

The artist selected for this project needs to be committed to its goals and work in a collaborative and respectful manger with the project partners and the community. The artist should plan to build relationships, engage with the community, and ensure that the final piece of artwork authentically represents the vision of the collaborative partners.

The administration of the city of Stow will select the artist with input from the Stow-Munroe Falls Community Foundation and the Stow Arts Commission. The alignment of the project with its goals, the quality of the proposal, and the experience of the artist in community- and public-based art will be the criteria for selecting the artist. The selected artist will oversee the process of fabrication and installation.

Local print shops often assist in spreading the word about such projects and their requirements with posters and other printed materials.

Applications for this project need to be submitted online by Friday October 11 at 4:30 p.m. with the installation of the project expected to take place between late 2024 and early 2025.
