New retail building proposed for Stow

Vincent Frammartino of Frammartino Construction Co. is looking to build a four-unit retail building in the business district on Kent Road in Stow.

The building would span 4,800 square feet on two lots, which are currently vacant, between Sycamore Drive and Gorge Park Boulevard on state Route 59.

There would be four suites in the building with an entrance on the west side to align with that of the Stow Plaza across the street. There would be a parking lot in the rear of the building with 23 spaces. The back has a retaining wall and there would be landscaping along the sides and front of the building. Frammartino said that a tenant is already interested in one or two of the suites.

Banner printing can be used at such sites to keep the community informed of the progress on any projects that involve them.

The Planning Commission of Stow has made several recommendations for the building. It is asking that the handicap parking spaces be relocated, lighting on the building be directed downward, the rooftop mechanical units be screened, and a guard rail be added to the back.

William Ross, a member of the Planning Commission, said that the property had been neglected and needs to be maintained and brought back to the standards set in the community.
