The Stow-Munroe Falls School District will be breaking ground on a new state-of-the-art Field House.
The building will house both community and athletics programs, offering mental health resources, thus helping it become a meeting space centralized in the community for many years in the future. It will be located on a large field close to the high school and across from the football field, spanning 25,000 square feet.
There will be a parking lot in front of the building, a large entrance, and a Logo Design of a Dawg Pound on the outside of the building. Inside, there will be multifaceted, multipurpose rooms with rubberized surfaces and a weight room, Director of Operations at Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools, Scott Campbell, said the building will be able to accommodate all the 28 athletic programs in the district.
Tom Bratten, superintendent, said that the new Field House will have an impact on the entire community. He said that the many groups in the community will be able to use the facility so that it will become a hub for the city. He added that once the district secures a health partner, the other side of the building can be used to offer mental health and behavioral support.
Construction will begin once the school year has ended, and the goal is to complete the building by the spring of 2024.
