A series of murals by artist Paulette Grubb has recently been installed in an alley off High Street in downtown Wadsworth. This is sufficiently close to Stow that residents may be tempted to pay a visit
The murals are not painted directly onto the buildings but were transferred to a material made of vinyl with a laminate coating that was then applied using heat to the buildings. Grubb is an artist from Wadsworth and volunteered her time to paint the murals. She has also done similar work for the Akron Children’s Hospital and is a board member of the Medina County Arts Council.
Main Street Wadsworth is currently undergoing an effort to improve the appearance of the downtown to attract more visitors. These murals, the largest of which is five feet by eight feet, are the first part of these efforts. They were unveiled during the First Friday event in the community.
Efforts such as these can be advertised using Promotional Products to make the community aware of their purpose.
More murals are being planned by Main Street Wadsworth. One of these will be 30 by 90 feet in size and be along a wall across from the Central Intermediate School. It will be painted by hand onto the building and features various images of Wadsworth on matchboxes to commemorate the history of the town regarding this industry.
