Fiber optic network to give Stow high-speed Internet

Metronet is planning a multimillion-dollar investment in Stow to implement a fiber optic network. The network will connect businesses and homes in the city to high-speed Internet access. PCMag has named Metronet as the fastest Internet service provider in America for two consecutive years.

A vice president at Metronet, Ben Ruzick, said that the fiber-optic network of his company offers reliable and fast speeds that enable businesses and households to stream, work, and connect without any lag times. He expressed his gratitude for the support of the city and Mayor Pribonic as the company brings its fiber optic network to the area. He added that his company is looking forward to growing along with the community.

Trucks from Metronet will be in the area once construction begins. Residents will be notified about work in their neighborhoods 30 days prior to the start date. Local Print shops can also play a major role in such projects, notifying residents with Flyers and other printed materials about any disruptions during such construction.

This project will also benefit the community in terms of the company’s plans to hire local professionals in the areas of sales and customer service, market managers, and service technicians.

Metronet plans to break ground soon on this project so that the first customers will have access to this service later this year.
