An exhibition celebrating Women in Arts, which will be presented by the Stow Arts Commission, is sending out a call for artists.
This exhibit is opened to all women in the area, but first consideration will be given to those who are residents of Stow. Artwork of paintings, mixed media, prints, and photography will be accepted, so any local women with an interest in art and graphic design might want to get involved.
All submissions require a cover letter describing the proposal being submitted, photographs or sketches of the proposed work, and a résumé with the artist’s educational background, biography, and record of exhibitions. Those between the ages of 14 and 18 years old who wish to submit work will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver.
The artwork selected for this special exhibition will be displayed in local businesses in the community that are volunteering to do so. A committee from the Stow Arts Commission will review the proposals and work with participating venues to make recommendations.
All entries are due to the Stow Arts Commission by Friday, January 27. Those artists whose work is accepted will be notified within one week and told where their artwork will be displayed by Friday, February 17. All artwork needs to be installed by Friday, February 24 and will be on display throughout the month of March.
