The Dinner on the Train trips of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will be coming to Akron. Residents of Stow will want to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy a meal in a dining car while traversing Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Such unique experiences are often promoted throughout an area with poster printing as there will be one departure per month between February and August.
Trains will leave from the Northside Station on Ridge Road in Akron for six Saturdays, one per month, beginning next month. A four-course dinner will be served with a complimentary bar available throughout the trip. Executive Chef Christopher Kafcsak of Nomad Catering outside Cleveland will be preparing the meals. Travelers can choose to dine in the newly renovated dining cars or in the vintage California Zephyr cars, offering a first-class dining area and a dome observation section.
The first Dinner on the Train trip will take place on Saturday, February 15. Diners should arrive by 6:30 pm, when complimentary champagne will be served. The train will leave the station at 7:00 pm.
Departures for Dinner on the Train from Rockside Station in Independence are also offered every Friday night. Tickets prices range from $100 to $120 depending on the class of seating.
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is also planning special event excursions, including Grape Escape and a Murder Mystery.
