Beer, food, and music festival to come to Stow area

The city of Kent will be hosting its Main Street Oktoberfest soon. Residents of Stow who enjoy beer and look forward to this annual event may be interested in attending the Oktoberfest.

The Oktoberfest will feature German-inspired food, seasonal beer, and polka music. The entertainment will include the Mike Wojtila Trio for polka dancing, the German Family Society Youth Dancers, Memphis Cradle, City of Invention, and That 80’s Band.

There will be three beer trucks at the event. Local Print shops can assist with the creation of Posters and Flyers with the offerings at such beer trucks, which are likely to vary by truck.

Among the offerings will be a black cherry seltzer, two pumpkin ales, Spaten Oktoberfest, Goose Island Oktoberfest, and three seasonal platform varieties. Recyclable plastic cups will be used for the serving of beverages. Also available for purchase will be commemorative Oktoberfest beer pitchers. Beer will be $6 per cup, $23 for a pitcher, and $18 for a pitcher refill.

Among the food offerings will be Dom’s Wood Fired Pies, Erie Street Kitchen, Ray’s Place, and Daisy Pops. This year’s event is sponsored by AMETEK, Hometown Bank, Portage Community Bank, Klaben Auto Stores, Platform Beer Co., and The Portager.

The Oktoberfest will be next Saturday, September 24 from noon to 10:00 pm.
