As the holiday season comes closer, Stow is on the lookout for talent as it prepares to enjoy a Christmas show put on by the Stow Players.
The Players are seeking actors to participate in the seasonal production, with this year’s offering being ‘A Visit from St. Nicholas on The Night Before Christmas’.
The company is looking for one male and one female, ages from their thirties to their fifties. Others sort after are a female in her twenties, two girls who can play any age from 8 to 11, and one boy who can play a character aged 8 to 10.
The show is a take on the famous poem ‘The Night Before Christmas’. In this adaptation, Clement C. Moore, who is a professor, does not want anyone to know that he's written a poem for children. In order to keep the secret, he burns his work. His children, who are at first devastated by the loss, band together to save their father's poetry by reenacting the events of the story.
Stow Players could work with a poster printing company to create holiday Posters advertising the show.
Auditions are slated for October 26 and 27, at 7:00 pm, in the Stow Acme Community Room. Those who are interested in trying out can take a look at a copy the script in the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. Performances are scheduled for December 11 through 14, as well as 18 through 20.
