The Teen Advisory Council of Knox County (TAC) will be organizing a colorful fundraising race in Newark at Memorial Park.
The 2022 Color for a Cause Race is a fun athletic fundraiser where people can support the TAC while getting messy on the course. Participants in the event can walk or run through Memorial Park while being bombarded by washable colored powders. All attendees are encouraged to wear white clothing for the event to ensure the powers are visible. Food trucks will be at the park after the race is finished, and everyone who completes the course will earn a finisher medal.
The TAC is a prevention team that is funded by the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team and DELTA IMPACT of New Directions. The group works towards ending harmful teen actions, including substance abuse and dating violence. Those who take part in the TAC meet monthly to learn about leading a healthy lifestyle and developing leadership skills. Teens in the organization also get to meet and work alongside members of the community.
The colorful racing event will be held on Saturday, October 1st. Registration starts at noon, and the color race will begin at 1:30 pm. Participants must pay $30 to join the activity, though discounts are available for groups or children ages 5-12. Organizers for special races like this can use banner printing to share the event with local motorists.
