Race to benefit Newark outreach program

Newark Homeless Outreach (NHO) will be organizing a race and community walk in Downtown Newark.

Steps of Change - Walk a Mile in My Shoes is a fundraising event where people can help homeless individuals by racing against other athletes. Participants in the activity may choose between a three-mile run or a mile-long walk. People can listen to live music at the race, and attendees can browse resource tables for more information about local organizations. Children may meet with Disney characters during the event and play in the bounce house.

Newark Homeless Outreach is an organization that supports those in need by cooking them food and donating clothes. The group assists between 90 and 150 people each week. The charitable organization also offers peer support services, transportation to those without vehicles, and life-saving harm reduction kits. Those who want to support the outreach program can volunteer to help the group lead community events and pass out essential items to homeless visitors.

The community walk and run will take place on Saturday, May 20 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The three-mile run costs $35 to join, and the mile-long walk is $25. People can help the organizers reach their fundraising goal of $1,000 by donating online. Groups like this may improve local awareness of their causes by using printing services to make Banners and Posters.
